AdFender 3.0
A ground-up rebuild: a new app, privacy protection beyond ad blocking, and a filter engine that blocks more while doing less work.
Coming from 2.x? What upgrading means for you
New
- A new app, in light or dark to match Windows, in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Japanese.
- A Privacy page: tell sites not to sell or share your data, strip known tracking codes from links, and limit some of the details your browser reveals about you and your device.
- Optional lists that hide cookie-consent pop-ups and “allow notifications” prompts.
- Pause filtering for 1, 5 or 15 minutes, or for a single app.
- Leave a website unfiltered for good, straight from the system tray.
- Support for IPv6 connections, and supported browsers are made to use a connection AdFender can filter instead of HTTP/3.
Improved
- Fifteen regional filter lists, including Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and one for Indian-language sites — and AdFender suggests the right one for your Windows language when there is one.
- The activity log now shows allowed requests as well as blocked ones, with the reason for each. Off by default, and kept only in memory.
- Lighter work per request: checking each request against your filter lists takes less than half the work it did.
- Blocks more of what your filter lists are written to catch, with fewer broken sites.
- AdFender no longer keeps a log of every web address you visit.
- Firefox is set up for every profile automatically, without having to close it.
- Sharp on high-resolution screens, at any Windows scaling.
- A native 64-bit app on 64-bit Windows with an Intel or AMD processor, from the same single installer.
Changed
- A 2.x license moves to 3.0 by itself on the same PC; 2.x license codes do not work in 3.0.
- Rules you wrote or exempted in 2.x carry over, and AdFender flags any worth a second look.
- Runs on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit or 32-bit. Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 are no longer supported.
