Windows 10 and 11 · on the same PC, a paid license and your own rules carry over
What’s new since 2.x
A new app, top to bottom
A clean, modern window that shows at a glance that you’re protected. Light or dark to match Windows, and it speaks your language: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Japanese.
Privacy beyond blocking
A new Privacy page can tell sites not to sell or share your data, strip known tracking codes from the links you open, and limit some of the details your browser sends about you and your device. Each is one switch.
Fewer cookie banners and nags
Add a list that hides “accept cookies” pop-ups, and another for “allow notifications” prompts — one click each, under Optional lists.
Pause just what you need
A site acting up? Pause filtering for a minute, five, fifteen, or just for the one app giving you trouble. Or leave a single website alone for good, straight from the system tray, while the rest of the web stays filtered.
See what’s happening, and why
Switch on the activity log and watch, live, what AdFender blocks and allows on the sites you visit — and the reason for each. It stays in memory and is gone when you close AdFender.
Catches more
Lists for French, Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese and Arabic sites join the regional set. AdFender now also handles IPv6 connections, and makes supported browsers use a connection it can filter instead of HTTP/3.
What happens to what you have
- License
- If you bought AdFender and your 2.x license is still running, nothing to do on the same PC. A few minutes after setup, AdFender 3.0 recognizes the PC your 2.x license was on and switches to it by itself, keeping its end date. Your 2.x code does not work in 3.0; on a different PC, while your 2.x license is still running, look up your order (email address and order number) for a new one.
- Your rules
- Rules you wrote or exempted in 2.x come across as they are, and AdFender points out any worth a second look.
- Settings
- Start fresh with the new defaults. Supported browsers are found automatically; re-add any other programs you filtered and any sites you excluded from HTTPS filtering. Setup asks again whether to turn on HTTPS filtering: choose Enable to keep filtering secure sites.
Every detail, step by step: upgrading from AdFender 2.x. The full list of changes is in the release notes.
Which 2.x do you have?
It decides how you install. Right-click the AdFender icon in the system tray and choose About: the version is shown there.
Just run the 3.0 installer. It removes 2.75 and puts 3.0 in its place.
Uninstall it first, from Windows Settings → Apps, then run the 3.0 installer.
Windows 10 and 11
AdFender 3.0 runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit or 32-bit. Setup will not install on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.
Ready when you are
One installer, about two minutes. Say yes to HTTPS filtering when setup asks, and protection starts on its own.
